General Accounting Supervisor

Job Summary:

  • Accounting supervisors take care of scheduling jobs and delegating duties to accounting department workers. In addition to clerical and managerial work, accounting supervisors also participate in basic accounting functions, such as logging payments and maintaining financial records. The supervisor in addition to maintaining regulations and laws of accounting procedures carries out financial auditing procedures. Accounting supervisors must be able to effectively communicate with employees and maintain a positive working relationship when addressing problems and coming up with solutions.

Key Areas and Responsibilities:

LEADERSHIP & ADMINISTRATION

  • Coordinate the organization, staffing, and operational activities for assigned accounting activities and operations.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and priorities for assigned areas of responsibility; recommend and implement resulting policies and procedures.
  • Direct, coordinate, and review the work plan for assigned accounting functions, services, and activities; assign work activities and projects; monitor work flow; review and evaluate work products, methods and procedures; meet with staff to identify and resolve problems; ensure work is performed accurately and that timelines are met.
  • Audit bank reconciliations.
  • Perform professional accounting activities; oversee and perform complex reconciliations and analyses; post information for assigned accounting activities into the general ledger.
  • Compile and analyze financial information to prepare financial statements including monthly and annual accounts
  • Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures
  • Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met
  • Prepare financial management reports
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close
  • Establish and monitor the implementation and maintenance of accounting control procedures
  • Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities
  • Continuous management and support of budget and forecast activities
  • Develop and maintain financial data bases
  • Financial audit preparation and coordinate the audit process
  • Ensure accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graduate of BS Finance, Business Administration or other business related course.
  •  With at least (4) years of experience in the related field
  • Knowledgeable in MS Office, Accounting software, mathematical ability, people skills, verbal and written communication, reconciliation and analytical skills
  • Dependable, Initiative, trustworthy and ethics
  • Must be attention to details. Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Must have an experience in handling staff.
